What's worrying your teenager?

In order to have any prospect of helping your teenager through life, you have to have some idea of what is bothering them. Life for a teenager is often complex, confusing and hard to cope with.

Some of the things they have to cope with include:-


1. Hormones and physical changes, including B.O., spots and sprouting body hair.
2. Parts of the body growing at different rates
3. Overloads of testosterone or oestrogen
4. Sexual changes and urges
5. Shortage of melatonin leading to change in sleep patterns
6. Brain processes emotional response before rational thought
7. Peer Pressure
8. Parental Pressure
9. School and Exams
10. Sibling Rivalries
11. Need to establish independence set against desire to be safe
12. Need for money and possessions
